Some Words from Master Changs Pupils
SANGROK World Taekwondo Academy Family
(Old SANGROK family Board)

Master Henrik S. Hunstad

The SANGROK gym has become like a second home for me. I'm very privileged to have experienced the training and the spirit of SANGROK. The way Master Chang has taught me, has given me an opportunity to learn high quality Taekwondo. SANGROK represent not only taekwondo to me, but also the best part of Korean culture. I feel honored to call Master Chang my master and friend. Anyone that wants to experience Korean culture at it's best and wishes to train the best Taekwondo, should visit the SANGROK World Taekwondo Academy. The way of Master Chang's taekwondo teaching is a blend of traditional taekwondo and Olympic taekwondo. If you are a beginner, an instructor, competitioner etc, SANGROK gym and Master Chang has something to teach everyone.

Sincerely,

Master Henrik S. Hunstad,
International Master Instructor, 6th Dan
Director of SANGROK Norway.

[re] Taekwondo Training a Foundation For Success in Mountaineering

Dear Matt,
mountain climbing is, together with Taekwondo, one of my greatest passion. I'm lucky, I grew up in the North of Italy, a stone throw away from the Alps. Walking on the mountains has always been part of my life, but only in the last few years I discovered all those fun activities that involve extremely low temperatures in summer time and consuming layers of skin grabbing rocks in non horizontal situation.
The physical and mental challenges you face going up a mountain are an incomparable, and it's true, the satisfaction that you have from reaching the top(or simply making it at the end of the day) and from the scenery is simply incredible.
Mountains are beautiful but merciless places, under the shadows of which the biggest lesson you learn is humility.
To renounce to top a peak, especially when it's there, when it seems you can almost reach it with your hand and touch it, it's never easy and requires a great strength. But the mountains you love the most are always those that deny themselves to you a few times.
It's surprisingly high the number of people that approach climbing from a martial art background.
And not surprisingly the best teaching method developed(in Italy at least) for rock and ice climbing has been created by a climber and martial expert, Paolo Caruso. And the tile of his book is emblematic:"The art of rock and ice climbing , to develop your self-awareness."

Keep it on Matt! Now I know there's somebody sharing my passion for mountains I'll feel less out of place if I write about it here every now and then (Mount Blanc coming up this summer, together with some other interesting things), and if we discover some fellow mountaineers between the Sangrok family one day we might ask for our own forum section ;-)

Cheers
Ruggero

PS:two pics, one from my traditional annual excursion on the 26th of December on the Grignone (it's more about digesting) and one from a climb on the Grignetta(it's the same group of the first one, they are my "backyard" mountains).
